Gerald Charles Maestro 3.0 Chronograph – A Blod Tribute to Gerald Genta
Gérald Genta is the legendary designer behind some of the most iconic luxury sports watches ever created and the Gerald Charles Maestro 3.0 Chronograph Ref. GC3.0-A-00 continues his legacy with a bold, distinctive design that blends avant-garde aesthetics with modern Swiss chronograph movement.
This timepiece features asymmetrical Maestro case, sporty chronograph layout, and striking black dial. The Maestro 3.0 Chronograph stands as one of the most dynamic pieces in the Gerald Charles collection.
The case is instantly recognizable from across the room thanks to its unique asymmetric polygon shape and the subtle concave “smile” at 6 o’clock—an architectural detail inspired by baroque structures designed by Francesco Borromini.
Crafted from stainless steel, the case measures 39mm wide and 41.7mm in length with a thickness of 11.5 mm. This dimensions offer a distinctive wrist presence while remaining comfortable on the wrist. The design features a screw-down crown and chronograph pushers integrated into the sculpted case profile.
Under the sapphire crystal we find a black sunburst dial that enhances the watch’s sporty character while maintaining elegance. The dial features applied hour markers and hands that are filled with Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent visibility in low light. The chronograph complication features 3 counters which are positioned at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, giving the dial a clean and symmetrical layout.
Completing the aesthetics of this sporty watch is a vulcanized rubber strap, decorated with the brand’s Clous de Paris motif and subtle logo detailing. Under the hood, this Maestro 3.0 Chronograph is the in house caliber GCA 3022/12, an automatic chronograph movement engineered for reliability and precision.
The movement is composed of 351 components and operates at a frequency of 4 Hz. This caliber features a bidirectional rotor mounted on a ceramic ball bearing for smooth winding and power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
The 3022/12 is visible through the sapphire caseback and showcases traditional Swiss finishing including Côtes de Genève, perlage, and polished bevels.
The Gerald Charles Maestro 3.0 Chronograph perfectly captures the spirit of Gérald Genta’s creative vision. Its unconventional case shape and sporty elegance make it stand out in a crowded field of luxury sports watches.
