Unworn Graham Chronofighter Vintage Pulsometer 44mm Stainless Steel — Blue Dial, Limited Edition of 250, Box & Papers (Ref. 2CVCS.U14A)
George Graham was buried in Thomas Tompion’s grave at Westminster Abbey in 1751. Two and a half centuries later, a Swiss watchmaking group borrowed his name to build modern chronographs. Whatever else you call the result, the name it operates under is not one of the cheap ones.
Available now at Black Tag Watches (Aventura, Florida), this unworn example — reference 2CVCS.U14A, Limited Edition of 250 — is offered complete with its original Graham presentation box, instructions, and warranty card.
What Is the Graham Chronofighter Vintage Pulsometer?
The George Graham Name — Stated Plainly
Graham-London traces its name — but not its continuous production — to George Graham (1673–1751), the English clockmaker who succeeded Thomas Tompion as head of the most important watchmaking business in early-eighteenth-century London. Graham perfected the deadbeat escapement in 1715, refined the cylinder escapement used in every one of his watches after 1726, invented the mercury-compensated pendulum, built instruments for the Royal Greenwich Observatory, and was buried in Tompion’s grave at Westminster Abbey. The modern Graham-London maison, founded in 1995 by Eric Loth and now producing watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, is a name revival rather than an unbroken production line — a fact worth stating plainly. What the modern maison has done with the name is another matter, and the Chronofighter is the specific answer it has offered.
The Pulsometer Variant Within the Chronofighter Vintage Line
Within Graham’s own catalogue, the Chronofighter Vintage is the more historically-styled sub-collection, and the pulsometer execution is one of the more specifically-instrumented dial configurations the line offers. Numbered at 250 pieces total, the 2CVCS.U14A pairs the maison’s signature trigger architecture with a medical pulsometer scale and a blue dial — a combination that reads as a genuine instrument chronograph rather than a decorative one. For collectors of limited-edition Swiss chronographs, unworn examples with complete original delivery are increasingly difficult to source outside the primary market.
Dial & Case Design: Trigger Architecture, Blue Pulsometer Dial
The Signature Chronograph Trigger
The 44mm stainless steel case stands 15.3mm thick, sized for the trigger-actuated chronograph architecture the reference has been built around since the maison’s early years. The signature feature is the left-flank chronograph trigger — an oversized start/stop lever fitted where a conventional chronograph would carry a pusher, drawn directly from the wrist-mounted stopwatches British RAF Bomber Command pilots wore during the Second World War, designed to be operable with gloved hands and full flying kit. The trigger is the maison’s most identifiable design element, and it distinguishes a Graham chronograph across a room. No other current Swiss chronograph carries an equivalent actuation system.
The Blue Pulsometer Dial
The blue dial carries a pulsometer scale — a historical medical chronograph function, calibrated to allow a physician to time a patient’s pulse against a marked graduation rather than a full sixty-second cycle. The layout is disciplined for an instrument chronograph: 30-minute counter at 6 o’clock, small-seconds sub-dial at 3, and day plus date apertures grouped at 9 o’clock. Applied indices and slim luminous hands read cleanly against the blue field. The pulsometer scale sits on the outer periphery in period-appropriate typography — a functional citation of the medical-chronograph tradition rather than a decorative one.
Movement: Graham Calibre G1718 — Swiss Automatic Chronograph
A Reworked Architecture for the Trigger and Day-Date Layout
Inside the Chronofighter Vintage Pulsometer is the Graham calibre G1718 — a Swiss automatic chronograph movement of 25 jewels running at 28,800 vph with a 48-hour power reserve. The G1718 is a Swiss-made automatic chronograph architecture reworked by Graham to drive the trigger-actuated chronograph and to display the day-and-date grouping at 9 o’clock — a specific configuration required by the Chronofighter dial layout. As a horological argument for a mid-tier chronograph at this price point, the G1718 does what a properly configured Swiss automatic chronograph should: it drives the trigger reliably, keeps accurate time, and is serviceable through any qualified Swiss watchmaker.
Finishing and Numbered Caseback
As with all Graham calibres in the Chronofighter Vintage line, the movement is finished with Côtes de Genève on the bridges and perlage on the mainplate, signed and numbered, and hidden behind a closed engraved caseback that carries the numbered-edition marking of the reference. The closed caseback is consistent with the instrument-chronograph identity of the watch — the finishing is present and correct, but the design priority is the dial and the trigger rather than a movement display.

Why Buy the Graham Chronofighter Vintage Pulsometer?
A Distinctive Design Signature in a Numbered Edition
The Chronofighter Vintage Pulsometer occupies a specific corner of the contemporary mid-tier Swiss chronograph market — recognised by buyers who prioritise a distinctive design signature and a limited-edition production number over the more conventional 44mm chronograph propositions from the volume houses. That distinction is the argument for owning one. The trigger architecture, the blue pulsometer dial, and the 250-piece production cap combine to produce a chronograph that reads as genuinely individual rather than as a variation on an established formula — which is precisely what the buyer looking beyond the mainstream Swiss chronograph names is after.
Unworn, Full Set, Below Retail
Against contemporary 44mm Swiss chronographs at retail, this unworn Chronofighter Vintage Pulsometer offers a numbered limited-edition Swiss automatic chronograph with a distinctive design signature, a full original factory delivery, and a specific medically-styled dial variant at a level that rewards practical thinking over badge hunting. Numbered at 250 pieces with complete box and papers in unworn condition, it is one of the cleaner acquisition positions available on the reference outside the primary market.
