Unworn Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Tara Ocean Foundation 42mm Blue Ceramic — Limited Edition of 999, Full Set (Ref. BR0392-D-TR-CE/SRB)
Bell & Ross has spent its history making instruments for professionals. The BR 03-92 Diver Tara extends that argument to a specific set of professionals — the oceanographers aboard a research schooner — and donates a portion of every sale to keep them at sea.
Available now at Black Tag Watches (Aventura, Florida), this unworn example — reference BR0392-D-TR-CE/SRB, Limited Edition of 999 — is cased in matte blue monobloc ceramic, powered by the calibre BR-CAL.302, and offered with an unusually complete factory delivery dated 2024.
What Is the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Tara?
A Partnership with the Fondation Tara Océan
The unworn Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Tara Ocean Foundation is one of 999 pieces produced to mark the first year of Bell & Ross’s partnership with the Fondation Tara Océan. The Tara Ocean Foundation is a French public-interest organisation founded to advance scientific understanding of the oceans, built around the research schooner Tara — a 36-metre vessel that has conducted long-form expeditions across the Arctic, the Pacific plankton zones, and the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific. Scientists aboard the schooner are issued with the BR 03-92 Diver Tara as their on-vessel instrument, and a percentage of the profits from each piece sold to the public is donated to the Foundation. The commercial argument for the reference and the environmental argument for the partnership are therefore the same transaction.
A Serious 300-Metre Dive Instrument
The watch itself is not a themed dress watch with a conservation badge. It is a serious 300-metre dive instrument in matte blue ceramic, built to professional-use specification and issued to a working research crew. For collectors of pre-owned Bell & Ross dive watches, that distinction matters: the Diver Tara’s charitable context sits on top of a genuine tool-watch specification rather than in place of one.
Case & Dial Design: Blue Ceramic, Tara Colour Palette
The Matte Blue Ceramic Case
The 42mm case is constructed as a matte blue monobloc ceramic square — the maison’s cockpit-instrument form in a material more commonly associated with high-end sport chronographs than with Bell & Ross’s broader catalogue, and chosen specifically for its scratch resistance under the kind of use the schooner’s crew gives their instruments. The four exposed screws at each corner of the bezel are the signature carried across from the BR-01 Instrument of 2005. The unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel adds the dive-timing function the reference exists to provide — graduated to 60 minutes with the first 15 minutes marked in bright orange, matching the Tara Ocean Foundation’s signature colour. The solid blue ceramic caseback carries an engraving of the schooner itself alongside the reference and the edition number.
The Blue Dial and Underwater Legibility
The blue dial is laid out for underwater legibility: skeletonised metal hands and applied metal baton and dot indices filled with Super-LumiNova, a date aperture between 4 and 5 o’clock, and the Fondation Tara Océan wordmark in orange printed on the lower dial beneath the handset. The orange seconds hand ties the Tara colour palette back into the running display. The overall composition is functional-first — a dive instrument whose colour scheme carries the partnership’s identity without compromising the legibility the specification requires.
Movement: Bell & Ross Calibre BR-CAL.302 — Swiss Automatic
A Properly Specified Dive Calibre
Inside the BR 03-92 Diver Tara is the Bell & Ross calibre BR-CAL.302 — a Swiss automatic movement of 25 jewels running at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with an approximate 42-hour power reserve. The BR-CAL.302 is the maison’s designation for the base automatic architecture used across the BR 03-92 Diver line, developed and finished to the manufacture’s standards for the collection. The movement sits behind the solid ceramic caseback and drives the central hours, minutes, seconds, and date. As a horological argument for a mid-tier limited-edition dive instrument at this price point, the BR-CAL.302 does what a properly specified Swiss automatic should do in this class: it drives the dial reliably, keeps accurate time within the practical tolerances of a 300-metre diving tool, and is serviceable through any qualified Swiss watchmaker or through Bell & Ross’s own service network. For a reference built around professional-use diving specification rather than horological ornament, that calibration is exactly the one the reference requires.

An Unusually Complete Delivery
Condition is unworn. The delivery is unusually complete, even for a limited-edition reference: the watch is offered with its original Bell & Ross presentation box, instructions, a complete set of strap-change tools, a Fondation Tara Océan patch, an additional orange synthetic strap, an additional orange nylon Velcro strap, and the warranty card dated 2024. For an unworn limited-edition dive instrument with the complete factory delivery, a cause-partnership context attached to the purchase, and an active Bell & Ross warranty period carrying forward from the original 2024 delivery, this is the most complete acquisition configuration a pre-owned example can offer. The additional strap set is a meaningful element — the orange-and-blue palette is part of the reference’s identity, and complete-set examples with both additional straps intact are correspondingly rare on the secondary market.

Why Buy the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Tara?
A Verifiable Charitable Mechanic, Not a Marketing Badge
The BR 03-92 Diver Tara occupies a specific position within the modern cause-partnership limited-edition market that most comparable watches do not: a verifiable charitable mechanic directly tied to the purchase. Watches badged with a conservation partnership often rely on the association as a marketing signal rather than on a quantified donation per unit sold, and the distinction matters for buyers who approach cause-aligned purchases with their eyes open. Bell & Ross states explicitly that a percentage of profits from each piece sold is donated to the Fondation Tara Océan, and the Foundation itself publicly acknowledges the partnership on its own channels.
Three Parallel Axes: Object, Instrument, Donation
Combined with the finite 999-piece production, the matte blue ceramic case material, and the 300-metre dive specification, the Diver Tara is one of the few references in its price band where the purchase argument has three parallel axes — object, instrument, and donation — rather than one. Against contemporary 42mm ceramic-cased dive-watch limited editions at retail, this unworn example offers a numbered edition from a documented charitable partnership, a serious 300-metre specification, a materially unusual complete-delivery configuration with the full accessory set intact, and an active Bell & Ross warranty period — at a level that rewards practical thinking over badge hunting, and that gives the buyer a specific external beneficiary tied to the acquisition.
