TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01

With the launch of each new Carrera chronograph, there is always a desire to compare modern models with the 1963 masterpiece. The original version of Jack Heuer was only 36 mm in diameter with a clear and easy to read dial. Historic watches are hard to imagine in modern design. But the brand suggests considering Carrera’s new products as a series of independent versions focused on Heuer, sports, and company traditions. Heuer-01 is not trying to replace the classic models, just offering a more modern design for today. Skeletonized TAG Heuer Carrera Caliber 01 presents a separate layer of brand models with a sporty style. The line of chronometers with caliber 01 is distinguished by functionality, innovative materials and flexible decor, not forgetting about the main characteristics of the watch — accuracy, reliability, durability. The appearance of affordable products from steel and ceramics is considered to be a turning point in watchmaking, when from elite luxury products of famous brands stepped into the people.

The Caliber 01 movement is considered a modification of Caliber 1887, which was developed by Seiko and then purchased by the company — both movements are manufactured by the TAG watch house in Switzerland and meet strict accuracy criteria before they hit the wrist. High frequency provides excellent mechanical accuracy. An automatic skeletonized caliber with 39 rubies works with a balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of 50 hours. A distinctive feature is the red column wheel and the function of quick date correction. The dial has central hands, three chronograph apertures for a stopwatch, a date and a minute subdial. The movement has a characteristic Cotes de Geneve finish, blackening and engraving.

Caliber 01 is mainly housed in stainless steel, titanium, ceramic, or a combination of these materials. The parameters of the case for a long time had a single size – 45 mm, but now the chronometers have slightly decreased to a more comfortable diameter of 43 mm.

Specially for modeling, the brand has developed a modular housing design to easily assemble elements from different materials to decorate the novelties of the Carrera collection.

The strap is a completely new design with perforated rubber racing rubber and a wonderful clasp for deployment. This is the most comfortable strap ever used on a watch. The most obvious design feature of 01 is the skeletal disc.
