Royal Oak 50th Anniversary 34 mm
The 34 mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 50th Anniversary, reference number 77450st is the smallest Royal Oak that you can get with an automatic movement. The 33 mm models all come with quartz movement.
The 34 mm is a new size that been added to the collection but it’s not a lady’s timepiece. It is actually a unisex timepiece which would fit perfect on a small size wrist. If you have a 16.5 cm wrist or larger I would recommend the 37 or 39 mm Royal Oak. And if you want the timepiece to have a big presence on the wrist, go for the 41 mm.
This new case is 8.8 mm thick and from lug to lug it measures 43.4 mm. The timepiece comes dressed in Stainless steel with a combination of polish and satin finish done by hand. As expected from the Royal Oak collection, this one has the famous octagonal bezel and polished hexagonal bolts.
Under the glare-proofed sapphire crystal is a beautiful silver toned dial with Grande Tapisserie pattern. The date window has a white background to match the theme and The white gold applied hour markers as well as the Royal Oak hands are filled with luminescent coating which shows very well at night.
The case comes paired with an updated bracelet which tappers not just from the front but also from the side. So each link gets slightly smaller as is gets closer to the folding clasp. Audemars made this update to make the bracelet more comfortable on the wrist.
Under the hood, this Ap is using caliber 5800 first introduced in 2020. This automatic movement has a special rotor (only available for the 2022 models) which features the 50 anniversary badge fully polished.
The caliber is composed of 189 parts which includes 28 jewels. The movement also features quick set date, hacking seconds, push down crown and 50 meters of water resistant.
The 5800 works at 4 hertz and has a power reserve of 50 hours.
