Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin (Ref. 4300V/220G-H151)
When a watchmaker with the pedigree of Vacheron Constantin releases a new version of one of its most refined timepieces, it commands attention. The new Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, reference 4300V/220G-H151, is the latest addition to the brand’s most praised collection. Released in 2025 alongside a pink-gold counterpart, this white-gold model pairs the elegance of a luxury sports watch with the sophistication of a perpetual calendar complication. Add to that the ultra-thin case construction and the bold burgundy dial, and you have one of the most compelling high-complication sports watches in recent memory.
The Overseas line is Vacheron’s answer to the integrated-bracelet luxury sports watch — a genre dominated by icons like the Royal Oak and Nautilus. But what sets this model apart is its horological complexity and aesthetic finesse. While this is not the first Overseas model to feature a perpetual calendar, the new white-gold edition refines the formula by combining precious metals with dramatic colorways and a slim profile.
At 41.5 mm in diameter and only 8.1 mm thick, this new Overseas remains one of the thinnest perpetual calendars in its class. The case, crafted entirely in 18K white gold, is water resistant to 50 meters and includes anti-magnetic protection via a soft iron casing ring. The burgundy dial is a showstopper: sunburst satin finishing, velvet-finished outer flange, and snailed sub-dials add richness and texture. White gold hands and indices filled with blue Super-LumiNova provide legibility and contrast, while a moon phase at 6 o’clock adds a poetic touch to the already complex display.
Under the hood is Vacheron Constantin’s Calibre 1120 QP/1, visible through a sapphire caseback. This is a self-winding movement with a power reserve of approximately 40 hours and with a thickness of just 4.05 mm, it contributes to the watch’s ultra-slim profile. The movement also carries the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva, a symbol of excellence in watchmaking finish and assembly.
In terms of wearability, this reference excels. While the use of white gold adds heft and luxury, the slim case ensures it wears comfortably on the wrist. It comes with Vacheron’s interchangeable strap system, giving owners three looks in one package: a white gold bracelet, a burgundy rubber strap, and a white rubber strap.
The bold burgundy dial might not be for the faint of heart, but it adds a fresh and modern twist to the classic perpetual calendar layout. It’s a color rarely seen in high-complication sports watches and may become a signature feature that appeals to discerning collectors.
Collectors and enthusiasts who value refined complications, this watch delivers on nearly every front. The combination of ultra-thin construction, gold case, integrated bracelet, and perpetual calendar complication is extremely rare. Compared to peers from Patek Philippe or Audemars Piguet, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin holds its own, offering a more distinct, perhaps slightly under-the-radar alternative for the seasoned collector.
