Introducing the New Frederique Constant Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture (Ref. FC-776SAL3H6)
In 2025, Frederique Constant elevates its perpetual calendar offering with the release of the Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture, reference FC-776SAL3H6. This latest evolution embodies the brand’s commitment to “accessible luxury,” delivering a sophisticated mechanical masterpiece that combines classical design with true in-house watchmaking excellence.
The new model features a 40 mm stainless steel case, a notable refinement from the previous 42 mm version. This subtle reduction in size enhances both comfort and elegance, making it more wearable for a variety of wrist sizes. Measuring just 12.1 mm thick, it retains a balanced profile that feels both substantial and refined. The sapphire crystal on both the front and caseback showcases the dial’s refined detailing and the exquisite movement finishing beneath.
At its heart beats the in-house automatic caliber FC-776, a movement developed and manufactured entirely in Frederique Constant’s Geneva workshops. It marks a significant upgrade over its predecessor, now offering a 72-hour power reserve—almost double the previous version. Beating at 4 Hz, the FC-776 drives a full perpetual calendar, displaying date, day, month, leap year, and moonphase with remarkable clarity. Through the sapphire caseback, the movement reveals traditional Swiss finishing, including perlage and Côtes de Genève striping.
The watch’s salmon sunray dial adds a modern yet timeless charm. It features recessed subdials with snailed textures, giving depth and visual harmony. Slender, hand-polished dauphine hands glide over applied indices and a clean sector-style minute track, resulting in a balanced and legible layout. The moonphase display at six o’clock adds a poetic touch, perfectly aligned with the overall elegance of the piece.
Functionally, the perpetual calendar mechanism is thoughtfully designed. The push-correctors for adjusting the calendar are discreetly positioned along the case sides, allowing precise control without disrupting the case’s symmetry. With a 50 m water resistance, it’s suitable for everyday wear, though best kept away from swimming or heavy moisture.
The Classic Perpetual Calendar Manufacture FC-776SAL3H6 excels in its ability to deliver high horology at a surprisingly attainable level.
In the metal, this watch exudes quiet confidence. The smaller case size gives it a more traditional, tailored presence on the wrist, while the warm salmon dial ensures it stands out without being ostentatious. Its understated charm makes it equally suitable for daily wear or formal occasions, bridging the gap between collector’s piece and practical timekeeper.
Frederique Constant has long championed the idea that fine watchmaking should be within reach of passionate enthusiasts. The FC-776SAL3H6 perfectly encapsulates that philosophy—combining mechanical complexity, timeless design, and superb finishing in a package that remains genuinely attainable.
