Franck Muller Endurance Grail Watch
For the company’s 30th Anniversary celebration, Franck Muller collaborated with Grail Watch to bring back 3 historic pieces that looks not forward—but back. This one is the Endurance Grail Watch Bi-Compax Chronograph Ref. CC2 SILVER AC BR. The timepiece is a tribute to mid-century chronographs, combining vintage design codes with modern execution.
This piece is a true collector’s chronograph limited to only 50 pieces.
At first glance, the Grail Watch stands apart from the typical Franck Muller design language with is classic round 39mm stainless steel case that echoes the golden era of chronographs.
Back in the 90s, Franck Muller also did these pieces in very low volumes. These were designs that Franck Muller introduced in the 90s to pay tribute to the Patek Philippe reference 1463.
Aside from the beautiful aesthetics of these timepieces, the other major feature was the use of the famous Lemania 1874 movement. This reliable movement is a very similar to the one used in the Omega Speedmaster back in 1969.
But the dial is where this watch truly shines. Finished in silver grené with guilloché detailing, it delivers depth and texture rarely seen in modern pieces.
The elegant blued steel leaf hands sweep across the dial, while applied Breguet-style numerals at 12 and 6 reinforce its vintage inspiration. The bi-compax layout features a Small seconds at 9 o’clock and a 30 minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock.
A subtle tachymeter scale frames the dial, adding functionality without overwhelming the clean aesthetic. The oversided crown and the pump pushers with flutter end caps further enhance the old-school chronograph feel.
Under the hood beats the manual-wind caliber MVT FM 2759, based on a new old stock Lemania 1874 movement—a legendary chronograph architecture revered by collectors. What’s impressive is that the watchmaker still had in their archives unsued Lemania movements. So this new 30th anniversary timepieces are using the same movements as the ones from the 90s.
The Franck Muller Endurance Grail Watch Ref. CC2 SILVER AC BR is a refreshing departure from the brand’s bold, contemporary designs. Instead, it delivers a pure, vintage-inspired chronograph experience—one that feels authentic rather than nostalgic.
This is not just a tribute—it’s a reminder that sometimes, looking back is the best way to move forward.
